They think that the world expects so much from them and they hate it when they have to sacrifice their souls for somebody else’s temporary pleasure and profit. Rather, they identify as passionate artists and visionaries, so they are unable to thrive in places that expect them to be cold and calculating. Their mental capacity isn’t based upon memorizing or having concrete skills that would be applied to something profitable in the academic and corporate worlds. They often doubt their intelligence and their ability to think logically because they struggled in school, especially with subjects that do not engage their fluid intelligence. Here are the common inner struggles that indigo children have experienced in their lives: 1. They doubt their own intelligence However, because they possess abilities and traits that most people don’t have or can’t understand, they experience greater struggles during their childhood and young adulthood, simply due to the fact that they cannot conform to the structure of this world or subject themselves to a purposeless existence driven by the fear of lack and the desire for external measures of progress. Rather, indigo children possess great wisdom in contrast to people their age and gifts that transcend normal human abilities (things like clairvoyance, extrasensory perception, hypersensitivity to others’ thoughts and feelings, unnaturally strong intuition, predicting the future, etc.). This is not to be confused with being intelligent or being a prodigy because the abilities of indigo children are not able to be measured by academic standards or perfectionistic standards set by this reputation-conscious society. Indigo children are some of the most gifted, self-aware, intuitive, yet misunderstood Millennials.
